We liked every detail about our one-night stay here. the room was modern and beautifully maintained with good water pressure. the location was handy and ideal, with shopping centers and a supermarket within walking distance. the restaurant was great. the staff were amazingly nice and accommodating.

It was quiet.
Owner kindly refunded a nights stay, but I'd rather have paid full price and got what I expected. After pre arranging an early check in - turned up to completely unserviced room from the previous customer. Had to walk around for an hour 1/4 with small child in tow, only to come in to the room looking unhoovered. Had to clean the microwave before I could use it. Ground level plug socket not secured to wall and promise of fixing it never eventuated. Broken heater in room. Had to ask for pillow case missing. Had to ask for tea/ coffee. No soap in the dispenser. Cot was not ready although was pre requested - had to ask twice before told 'i'll do my best but can't promise anything'. (I explained this to my one year old - she said she'd just wait to have a sleep then! ) Had to ask for a smoke alarm - was not put back in after a kitchen upgrade - don't blame the workers - it's your motel - check it!!!! Long dark hairs on the main bed sheets - were they changed?!?!

Warm Welcome from the helpful owner, room ready & smoking area as requested,e/mails answered fast. Book this one early as Xchurch short of motel rooms due to heartbreaking tradegy. Could not fault anything, it was spotless, very comfy bed(for the 3 hrs I slept as early A.M. flight dep.), fullsize kitchen, great power shower & loads of hot water, room heater, good tv reception/free Sky movies, close to city, bus stop at door, nothing too much trouble for them and thoroughly recommend. I can't fault it. A 1970's breezeblock -type motel but holds her age well for a 'driveup to door' motel which I need as can't do stairs due to leg injury. Absolutely no complaints, suggested to owner to update photo on site as current one didn't do it justice. Phil, I will be back when do the North of the Sth Island via route you suggested.

The owner was very helpful , unit was ver clean and tidy , the unit had all the required facilities for a comfortable over night stay. Not the newest motel on the block but all of the above makes up for the age of the units. I would go back without reservation.
Nothing springs to mind

Manager was very friendly & obliging
No niceties - generic hand soap for use in shower & not very much of it. Only one wine glass & had to ask for milk

Great value for money, spacious and clean cottage. Well-equipped kitchenette and friendly host. Good wifi and handy location.
The breakfast option could be improved with the inclusion of place mats for the dining table.

It was warm, spacious and well appointed.
The pressure in the shower was quite poor but this may have been something to do with the earthquake. We still managed to shower adequately.
